He quitted alcohol, eating fatty foods and reduced the intake of carbohydrates. This was just an initial period. Because quitting alcohol solved half of his problem of obesity, alcohol triggers weight gainer(1). In one of his interview, Zach Galifianakis says,
“Life is about evolving at every stage even if you have to quit the most precious thing, and for that, you have to make lots of changes to lose lots of weight”.
He turned to healthy foods and snacks, half of the people are unable to think about healthy snacks because they were always in a misconception of snacks can never be healthy. So he started off with Apple juice. Gradually he changed so much in his meals. He shifted from his unhealthy diet to a healthy diet.
He never believed if one has dreamt of having a well-shaped body they need to cut foods or food groups from their list. According to him they just need to cut off refined carbohydrates. Eating healthy food brings good health as well as a good body(2).

Zach is quite choosy in everything including picking up the right schedule. For achieving a healthy body and lifestyle, he consulted a personal coach. He followed a strict routine and stick to that. Zach began to clean up his diet and started having a metabolism booster on the suggestion of his friend.
He adopted a completely new lifestyle to get the old one. For staying motivated for long he hired a personal coach who helped him in pushing to the next levels.

Zach Galifianakis Weight Loss Gym Plan
Here is his Gym schedule
Zach begins his Monday with 30 minutes on the elliptical machine at the proper intensity. For keeping himself motivated and active, he used to listen to an audiobook, watch TV.
The cardio session was dedicated to Tuesday, he begins his day doing 30 minutes cardio. Generally, he does only lower intensity incline treadmill workout. He set up his treadmill at an incline of 10.0 – 15.0, he walks at speed of approx 4 miles. This workout really helps in burning calories.
This was dedicated to eating healthy foods. Because on Wednesdays he focuses on his acting, takes leave from the gym. But he never wasted even this day and dedicated more to have healthy foods.
Now Thursday is the favorite day of Zach. Because he planned his day quite interesting, which motivated him more for turning his dream into reality for having a fit and fine body.
In one of the interviews Zach tells, Bike is the best cardio as he always rides to feel alive and to live a healthy life. He used to go to the gymnasium, apply the Bike machine to feel like a child, to steal some moments from life. This also helped him keep fit and fine.
He always searched some interesting exercises which could give him fun as well as peace, when you start feeling peace, you become more determined to do anything which you want to achieve. This might be a reason Bike session kept him going on for losing weight.

On Friday, he made sure to give more shorts to the cardio session on this particular day. 20 minutes jog made him more determined to spend his day more productively, then he used to proceed for other exercises. He gave a quiet motivating statement:
“ If he worked on his abs before the weekend he would less be inclined to indulge in beer and cheesecake !”.
Weekends Special Plans
Zach took weekends as weekends, so he took off from the workout, but he made sure he spends his day well doing things, keeping himself busy.
This day also attracted him to ride Bike. This bike ride was a game-changer into his life as this one thing led him to so many things, he started knowing nature closely. He fell for nature, nature is always soothing for anyone, this might be one of the reasons he never stopped in the journey of weight loss.
To make his workout routine more authentic and natural, he preferred playing Tennis. He used to play Tennis with his friend’s group. It was quite fun and healthy.
